GOLF TIPS FROM PATTI-ANNE FITZPATRICK
DUFFERIN GLEN GOLF AND PRACTICE FACILITY

PUTTING
Place the ball slightly ahead of center between your feet.  Check your eyeline to make sure your eyes are over the ball.   Take your stance to your ball then drop another ball from the bridge of your nose.  It should fall onto the other ball.  If you are slightly off, you should err on the inside not outside.

CHIPPING
One of the most common mistakes I see is a fast backswing and a slow downswing to the ball.  This deceleration will cause you to hit the ball with the leading edge of the club or the club will get stuck in the grass. A way to remember to accelerate through the ball is to think “ one back,  two through.”  So determine the length you need and take the club back this distance, but go twice this distance through. Remember always accelerate through the ball!

HITTING TO YOUR TARGET
Try this to help aiming to your target.  Choose a spot in the distance in line with your target, but don’t just pick a large stand of trees, get specific and pick one tree or a particular branch on the tree.  The more specific your aim is the more accurate your shot.  Practice this and your aim will improve!
